I served as costume designer for The Stamped Project at the 4th Annual Banned Books Festival, responding to six short plays inspired by Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. The works included Throwing Blind by Straton Rushing, Wake Up by Ashley H. White, Coming to Umreeka by Maryam Baig, Incommunicado by Aaron Zilbermann, Ham and Cheese by Calvin Walker, and A Condition of Dissonance by Camika Spencer. It was a fast-paced, collaborative process where I translated complex themes of history, race, and identity into costume under shifting tonal and conceptual demands. Working closely with the directing, scenic, lighting, and sound design teams, I helped build a cohesive visual world that supported each playwright’s distinct perspective while maintaining an overall unified aesthetic across the festival.
